Bling by Hinaara

Hi Blog,
I know that I haven't kept in touch for about two weeks or maybe more. I promise Blog. It doesn't mean anything. I haven't been cheating on you. Nor have I forgotten about you. In fact, many a time during the day I think of you beloved. And dream of all the stories I plan to tell you. I'm sorry Blog. I've just been so busy. Life with the hubby is crazy.
If its not one thing, its the other. Either a dinner with friends. Or a pre-planned trip. Last weekend, not the one that just passed but the one before it, we were in NYC. It was sort of a dual purpose trip. We went to a wedding. Sonia, my friend from Queens, got married to Paul. It was crazy to say the least. We had a great time and it was nice to introduce Dsquared to my world of NYC and to my family who took care of me while I was there. Love my hubby bubby. He's a great man.
We had an unbelievable weekend, between the two of us. We ended up sleeping in on Sunday and then walking to Chinatown and Little Italy to snack on some dim sum and some calamari.
Its a problem, I tell you. This eating. My obesity is not a joke anymore. We're planning to buy a treadmill. We've been planning...for a while. Something needs to be done I tell you. It's getting a tad out of control. Anyway, upon landing in Orlando our friends Kamal, Chinky, and Manisha asked us to have dinner. We went to Napa Sorn, a Thai ("thigh") restaurant where they convinced us to stay the night.
One night became three nights of unbelievable fun. We spent the days looking at hotel venues as Kamal and Manisha recently got engaged and are planning to get married in April. It was tons of fun. We ate at crazy awesome restaurants. We are all foodies, especially Chinky, Kamal's sister. She knows the best restaurants. Chinky and I grew up in St. Maarten where there quite a large Sindhi community. I'm Sindhi, in case you were wondering. All of my zero readers out there.
Either way, Chinky and I got to know each other so well over the past few days. She came to visit us in Daytona Beach for two nights and Dino and I were practically in tears when we dropped her at the airport. She really is an amazing woman. She's ambitious, a jeweler and creative designer, modern, independent, smart, social, mature, and overall an amazing person. Oh. And she loves dessert. While in Orlando, we stayed at The Ritz, where she ordered Warm Chocolate Cake every night at like 3am. And one night we shared 6 bottles of Rose Champagne between the five of us. Nuts.

This was the view from their hotel room. Gorgeous.

So that was our crazy week. Even when we got back to Daytona, we had Chinky here for two nights and when she left we had another wedding to attend with Dino's associates at Exit Realty. We didn't get to spend a night at our own house in over a week. And whoo! You can just imagine my load of laundry when we got home. In the meantime.
The second reason we went to NYC was to buy some fashion jewelry. Dino and I started a line of fashion jewelry called "Bling by Hinaara". We stumbled upon some pretty awesome stuff. I wanted to ensure that my line carried classy, quality items unlike most costume jewelry found in mainstream stores at the mall. So we decided to invest in sterling silver jewelry. We also found some pretty cute Swarovski watches. See below. And place your orders ASAP!

Food's Sonnet.

So.
We love to eat.
But you already knew that.
One of our munching habits is to photograph our food.
No food goes unphotographed before we dig into it.
It gets uploaded almost immediately.
We love to share our feasts with the world.
Just to let them know that we are fat and well.

Enjoy this collection of our eats.

Nubia's Nonsense

I've been following this blog for quite a while. Actually, its quite a stalker-ish story.
I don't usually have "beef" with anyone but once upon a time. A long long time ago. I had semi-beef with this girl, only because she ... well. Its old news. I've never met her. Talked to her once on the phone. Thats how silly it is. Anyway, through FB I found her page and came upon her blog and it seems that she has really turned herself into something amazing.
She is a fashion blogger and has unbelievable style. I don't know how she does it but she has the knack of putting together accessories and clothing that seem to me to be so random. I always wonder what her closet looks like and how much money she makes. Her wardrobe must be endless.
Her nails are always done. Her hair, perfect. Gosh, I wish I was a girly girl. I just never had the gift of fashion. She seems to pull all her outfits off flawlessly- combat boots, crazy headbands, vintage purses, knee high socks. If I were to even attempt to wear the same things she does, I would look a fool. And it doesn't hurt that she is...absolutely gorgeous! Being a New Yorker (sort of, she is from Queens) she also blogs about the fashion events in and around the city and American media and culture. So if you want to follow her fashion blog, please check into Nubias Nonsense

I've attached some photos for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

So. Hope that gives you an idea of her amazing style. Awesome, right? I honestly don't know how she does it but its genius, me thinks. Is it totally ironic that I'm watching 'Project Runway' while blogging?
